So happy to leave the Bay Area...but not really excited about the drive to Reno. We've seen that drive about 378 times.

Aaaahhhhh. Central Nevada. Wow! Desolation...and sagebrush! And prisons. Road signs warn: HITCH-HIKING PROHIBITED; DO NOT PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS. I'm cool with that.

I'm pretty sure this truck is a boy truck.
Yay! We did it...We're finally in Jackpot, Nevada...we stayed at Cactus Pete's casino and resort...Where there is great people watching, a phone right next to the toilet, and a new top food of all time: Deep-fried gobs of Mac-n-cheese...Why isn't this culinary wonder found everywhere?!!

Bitchen blog. Reads like something out of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" (except he was going the opposite way). Keep posting!
Congratulations guys. I will be following.
Great travelogue, so excited for you guys!... Brett, take me to Jackpot, Nevada fo' fried mac and cheese. I will love you forever and always.
This is the best blog EVER! I've never been to Jackpot. Now I know why. I can cross that one off the list. Is it more fun than Battle Mountain? By the way I met a German guy in Chile who was an exchange student in Battle Mountain. The world is way too small. If you have time, come to Memphis. We have an extra room and 3 chickens in the backyard. Bye.
Congratulations newlyweds! I love that you two are adventuresome and are sharing it with all of us. We have better things in Memphis than chickens, so I hope that doesn't keep you from stopping over if you are in the neighborhood.
