Day 4: Glacier National Park, Part 1

25$ gets you 7 days in the park. Shannon thinks this is a screamin deal..Nathaniel thinks he deserves to take a moose for that price. Couple shot with water, rocks, and trees.
Avalanche Lake. Gorgeous.
Apparently in late fall, all the bears (black & grizzly) are packing on their last pounds for winter and are very cranky. Momma bears in particular. Warning signs are everywhere and encourage you to make a lot of noise, carry bear mace (super concentrated pepper spray with 30ft range), and wear a slick jacket so it makes it more difficult for a bear to grab you and body slam your organs. This makes hiking a slightly sketchy and less-relaxed experience. Maybe that explains why no one else is here. Nathaniel is equipped with dual "counter assault" bear canisters. Wusses need not apply.
All right! Our first non-deer animal. A mountain goat! Hey dude...Come chill down here...it's very flat and there is plenty of grass.
Shannon visits the Lord of the Rings set.
See. I told you there are bears. They remove the bark to get the grubs and eat 'em. Shannon is pissed now..let's scram.
Lake MacDonald. Beautiful.

Congratulations Nathaniel and Shannon! It's Darleen (Aaron's sister). I found your blog from Carolyn's blog--she did a really cool post of you two. Anyway, I'm so happy to hear the good news and would love to send a congrats gift to the lovely couple. Your honeymoon looks like a lot of fun. I hope the wedding was fabulous. Post some pictures! Please tell Nathaniel I said "hello"! http://darlingdarleen.blogspot.com
