Day 12: Minnesota to Chicago!

Ryan. Hi. Yeah. What? No. I don't know. Listen...no time to talk, I need to get out of Minnesota. ooo...That looks like more wheat.
Yep.
Leave me alone! I need variety in my scenery!!
One thing Minnesota does have, is the amazing rest-stops. Totally indoors, clean, and well maintained. Plus, they have expansive maps under glass with mileage charts of all cities from your current position. It's total guy-heaven while you wait for your lady friend.
Mississippi River. No Huck Finn in sight.
Wow! The Wisconsin sign totally kills the Minnesota sign. It has like big nouns on it, and it has more wood. Yep, our pleasures are getting simpler.
What does a fish-a-terian eat while on the road? Lots and lots of "Veggie Delites" from Subway. Not all Subway sandwiches are created equal. Nathaniel had one in Idaho that took 15 minutes for the sandwich technician to make and it was like 4 inches thick. It must have had a whole head of lettuce in it.
Wisconsin has a lot of signs saying "Cheese" on it...And a lot of motel/hotel billboard ads that list "cheese" as an amenity, right next to "satellite tv" and "wireless internet"...How great is that!? This one had a giant mouse running up it. Nathaniel first thought it was a toddler.
We stopped at a gas station and it had a giant pink elephant with Buddy Holly glasses. Look. We don't know what to write...just look.

You know...if you had a giant silo...would you put a massive pumpkin on it? Us too.

Illinois: Land of Lincoln? Illinois: Boring sign. Hey Illinois...take some notes from Wisconsin and Minnesota.
We were making great time through the wheat...and then we hit Chicago traffic on Friday night. 2 hours of play time was lost. We'd much rather dodge deer at 80 mph in Montana.
We made it to Ryan and Ann's house! Hooray! No key card!

Yeah, congratulations you made it! That was fun. But wait, now I'm sad. Does this mean your blogging days are done? That went by way too fast.

Carolyn, they're still going to New York after this. I bet it takes them like 5 more days.

Hey Nathaniel, isn't Wally from Wisconsin? Did you stop by any of his old hang out spots?
